IP Takedown (DMCA / DSA)
If you believe content on SceneCrew infringes your intellectual-property rights, this is how to tell us. We take IP complaints seriously and aim to act within the statutory response windows.
1. When to use this process
Use this process if:
- You own the copyright (or exclusive licence) to a work and believe it is being reproduced without authorisation in content stored or generated on SceneCrew;
- You hold a registered or well-known trade mark and believe it is being used on SceneCrew in a way that is likely to cause confusion, dilute your mark, or trade on your goodwill;
- You have another valid IP complaint — design right, database right, moral right — recognised under the law applicable to you.
For privacy complaints, use privacy@scenecrewai.com. For abuse of real people's images, voices, or likenesses, use the abuse reporting route.
2. DMCA — copyright notices (17 U.S.C. §512)
To submit a notice under the US Digital Millennium Copyright Act, send a written communication to our designated agent that includes all of the following:
- A physical or electronic signature of the owner, or a person authorised to act on behalf of the owner, of an exclusive right that is allegedly infringed;
- Identification of the copyrighted work claimed to have been infringed, or, if multiple works, a representative list;
- Identification of the material that is claimed to be infringing and that is to be removed, with information reasonably sufficient to permit us to locate the material (include the URL on our platform);
- Information reasonably sufficient to permit us to contact you: address, telephone number, and, if available, email address;
- A statement that you have a good-faith belief that use of the material in the manner complained of is not authorised by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law;
- A statement that the information in the notification is accurate, and under penalty of perjury, that you are authorised to act on behalf of the owner of an exclusive right that is allegedly infringed.
Designated agent
DMCA Agent — Quantum Touch Limited
Email: dmca@scenecrewai.com
Postal address: (available on request)
Our DMCA agent registration with the US Copyright Office is current. Notices not substantially complying with the requirements above may not receive a response under §512.
3. EU Digital Services Act — Article 16 notices
Users in the European Union can submit a notice of suspected illegal content under Article 16 of the Digital Services Act. The notice should include:
- A sufficiently substantiated explanation of why you consider the content to be illegal, with reference to the law you believe has been broken;
- A clear indication of the exact electronic location of the content (URL) and, where relevant, additional information enabling us to identify the content;
- Your name and email address, unless the notice relates to offences involving minors — in which case your identity is not required;
- A statement confirming your good-faith belief that the information and allegations in the notice are accurate and complete.
Send Article 16 notices to dsa@scenecrewai.com. We will acknowledge receipt and provide our decision with reasons, as required by Articles 16(5), 17, and 20 of the DSA.
4. Warning against misuse
5. What happens after you submit a notice
- We acknowledge receipt, usually within two working days.
- We review the notice for completeness. If the notice is incomplete, we may ask for the missing information.
- If the notice is valid, we remove or disable access to the reported content expeditiously. We may preserve a copy of the content, the metadata, and any account-level context for investigation, legal, and appeals purposes.
- We notify the affected user that their content has been removed, give them the reason, and tell them how to submit a counter-notice if they believe the removal was in error.
- Where the notice is manifestly unfounded or abusive, we will refuse it and may limit the reporter's ability to submit future notices.
6. Counter-notification (DMCA §512(g))
If your content has been removed or disabled under a DMCA notice and you believe the notice is wrong, you can submit a counter-notice. A valid counter-notice must include:
- Your physical or electronic signature;
- Identification of the material that has been removed and the location at which it appeared before removal;
- A statement under penalty of perjury that you have a good-faith belief that the material was removed or disabled as a result of a mistake or misidentification;
- Your name, address, telephone number, and email address, and a statement that you consent to the jurisdiction of the federal district court for the judicial district in which the address is located (or, if outside the United States, for any judicial district in which Quantum Touch Limited may be found), and that you will accept service of process from the person who provided the original notice or an agent of such person.
Send counter-notices to dmca@scenecrewai.com. If we receive a valid counter-notice we will forward it to the original complainant and, unless they file a lawsuit seeking a court order against you within 10 to 14 business days, we will restore the removed content.
7. Repeat infringer policy
In accordance with DMCA §512(i) and comparable EU and UK obligations, we will, in appropriate circumstances, terminate the accounts of users who are repeatedly the subject of valid infringement notices. “Repeat” is measured across complaints we consider valid, not across complaints we rejected.
8. Trade mark complaints
Send trade mark complaints to trademark@scenecrewai.com. Include: proof of your trade-mark right (registration number or evidence of unregistered use), the registered or unregistered mark, the goods and services it covers, the territory of your right, a description of the alleged infringement, the URLs concerned, and a statement that you have a good-faith belief the use is not authorised by you or the law.
