Acceptable Use Policy
This Policy lists what you must not do on SceneCrew. It is incorporated into the Terms of Service. A breach can result in content removal, suspension, termination, and — where the law requires — reporting to law enforcement and specialist bodies.
1. Scope
This Policy applies to every use of SceneCrew — every Input you submit, every Output you retain or export, and every action taken on or through your account. It applies in both Managed and BYOK modes. It applies to administrators, to automations, and to any person you give access to your account.
2. Absolute prohibitions — zero tolerance
The following conduct will result in immediate, permanent termination and, where legally required, preservation of evidence and reporting to law enforcement and specialist bodies including the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) in the US and the Internet Watch Foundation (IWF) in the UK.
- Child sexual abuse material (CSAM) in any form — real, cartoon, generated, stylised, implied, or otherwise;
- Content that sexualises minors, including nudity, suggestive posing, or content that depicts a child in a sexual context regardless of apparent age;
- Non-consensual intimate imagery of any person (“deepfake porn”, “revenge porn”, synthetic nudity) — the absence of consent, documented, is disqualifying on its own;
- Content produced to facilitate or plan imminent physical harm to a specific person or group, including attacks, murder, or violent assault;
- Content promoting, directing, or providing operational support to terrorist organisations, or content designed to recruit for such organisations;
- Content whose purpose is to sexually exploit, extort, blackmail, dox, or stalk any person.
3. Prohibited content categories
You may not use the Service to generate, process, store, or distribute content that:
- Advocates, glorifies, or incites violence, hatred, or discrimination against a person or group based on a protected characteristic (race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, caste, sexual orientation, gender, gender identity, disability, or serious medical condition);
- Harasses, bullies, or threatens a specific person, or reveals private information about them without authorisation (“doxing”);
- Depicts graphic violence or gore without clear artistic, educational, journalistic, or historical merit;
- Depicts self-harm, suicide, or eating disorders in a way that promotes or instructs;
- Promotes the sale of weapons, ammunition, regulated drugs, or other items restricted under applicable law;
- Promotes or facilitates the consumption of illegal drugs by minors;
- Is designed to deceive voters, interfere with elections or referendums, or impersonate a candidate, election official, or governmental authority;
- Depicts real people in fabricated statements, endorsements, or scenarios without documented consent — including political figures, celebrities, colleagues, former partners, or anyone else;
- Impersonates a real person or organisation for fraud, misrepresentation, or to defame;
- Infringes copyright, trade marks, publicity rights, privacy rights, trade secrets, or any other right of a third party;
- Misrepresents AI-generated content as real, where a reasonable viewer would be deceived in a way that causes harm (financial, reputational, political, or otherwise);
- Would reasonably be expected to cause material harm to individuals, communities, or critical infrastructure;
- Violates any law applicable to you, your audience, or where you process the content.
4. Prohibited uses of the Service
You may not, and may not attempt to:
- Use the Service to produce spam, bulk unsolicited content, or automated misinformation campaigns;
- Use the Service to develop, train, fine-tune, or evaluate a competing AI product, or to create a dataset for any such purpose;
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or scrape the Service, its APIs, or its Outputs beyond documented, rate-limited usage;
- Interfere with the Service's integrity, operation, or security (including load-testing without prior written consent);
- Circumvent authentication, rate limits, plan caps, safety filters, watermarking, provenance signals, or content moderation — yours or ours — including by prompt-injection techniques designed to extract protected system prompts, disable filters, or impersonate moderators;
- Create, maintain, or use multiple accounts to evade suspensions, trial limits, or plan pricing;
- Share an account with another person in a way that would allow them to evade plan limits, bans, or compliance checks;
- Distribute malware, phishing kits, exploit code, or credential-harvesting material through the Service;
- Use the Service in any way that violates the terms of any AI Provider whose model you invoke through it.
5. High-risk and regulated use cases
Without our prior written agreement, you may not use the Service or any Output to make, support, or influence decisions about any person that fall within the “high-risk” categories of the EU AI Act (Annex III) or equivalent laws. These include, by way of example:
- Employment, worker management, and access to self-employment (recruitment, performance evaluation, termination);
- Access to essential private and public services (credit scoring, insurance underwriting, emergency response dispatch, eligibility for benefits);
- Education and vocational training (admissions, assessments, proctoring);
- Law enforcement, migration, asylum, border control, or the administration of justice and democratic processes;
- Critical infrastructure (energy, water, transport, digital infrastructure).
If you have a legitimate use case in one of these areas, contact legal@scenecrewai.com before deploying.
6. Real people, children, and consent
Use of real people's names, voices, images, or likenesses is subject to our Content Rights & Consent Policy. In summary:
- You must hold documented, informed consent from every identifiable real person depicted, for the specific use you are making;
- Minors may not be the subject of any AI generation on the Service, full stop;
- Public figures — politicians, celebrities, journalists, athletes, business leaders — are not fair game for fabricated conduct; parody and commentary may be permitted where local law allows, but you bear the legal risk;
- Voice cloning of a real person without documented consent is prohibited. Voice matching to a fictional persona is permitted subject to AI Provider policies.
7. Reporting abuse
If you see content or conduct on SceneCrew that violates this Policy, report it to abuse@scenecrewai.com. Include links, URLs, timestamps, and any supporting context. Reports involving suspected CSAM, non-consensual intimate imagery, or imminent threats should be marked URGENT in the subject line. We triage those reports first.
You can also report under applicable national regimes — for example, the UK Online Safety Act's illegal-content complaint routes or EU Digital Services Act Article 16 notifications. Our designated point of contact for such notices is abuse@scenecrewai.com.
8. How we enforce this Policy
When we discover a violation, or reasonably believe one has occurred, we take the most proportionate action available. The usual escalation is:
- Warning, guidance, and content removal;
- Feature suspension (for example, disabling generation for a period);
- Account suspension pending investigation;
- Permanent termination and ban;
- Preservation of evidence, report to law enforcement, report to specialist bodies (NCMEC, IWF), and cooperation with lawful process.
Breaches of section 2 (absolute prohibitions) skip straight to step 4 and step 5.
9. Appeals
If we restrict your account or remove content and you believe the decision was wrong, you can appeal by emailing appeals@scenecrewai.com within 14 days. Explain the decision you are appealing, why you believe it was incorrect, and provide any supporting context. We will acknowledge within two working days and aim to decide within 14 working days, longer in complex cases. Appeals do not apply to decisions taken under section 2.
10. Changes
We will update this Policy as new abuse patterns emerge, as the law evolves, and as our mitigations improve. We will surface material changes via the same channels used for Terms updates.
